Assessments (12 and 19 January 2019)

Fairfield is a select-entry school. The majority of children join at 4+ following an assessment in January.

Some children join in Years 1 and 2 when there are spaces available. Children are invited to spend a day at the school and they are assessed in literacy, numeracy and reasoning.

Children joining Years 3-6 are asked to attend a formal Entrance Assessment on the first Saturday in January before entry in September. The assessments will include:

– Maths paper
– English: creative writing/reading & comprehension
– Non-verbal reasoning

Fairfield Kindergarten

We welcome boys and girls aged 3+ into our Kindergarten, which opened in January 2016.

Places are available on a full and part-time basis during term time for children who are three years old.

To apply for a place, please use our Admissions Form which you may download or complete the online form.

Admission to Kindergarten is by application only and in accordance with Section 5 of our Admissions Policy, which can be viewed here. Children then enter Reception in the September after their fourth birthday having successfully undertaken the standard assessment process in the preceding January.

If you would like further information, please contact the Kindergarten Manager, Mrs Willingham, on 01509 215172 to arrange an appointment to visit.

Information about fees for the 2018/19 academic year is available here. Breakfast Club beginning at 07:4, and After School Care, available until 18:00 daily, are both included in the Kindergarten fees. Free Early Years Entitlement (FEEE) may also be used from the term after a child’s third birthday.
